Taddy’, Simmo, Pollard missing from trials Three West Indies players will be missing from this weekend’s trial match organised by the T&T Cricket Board, to select the national team for the upcoming Carib Beer Series which bowls off on January 9. Left-arm spinner Dave Mohammed, opening batsman Lendl Simmons and hard-hitting allrounder Kieron Pollard will miss the match which will be played Saturday and Sunday at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva, from 10 am. According to a source close to the T&TCB, Mohammed has been given an extended week’s rest, Simmons is on the injured list, while Pollard has been selected on the West Indies team for the One-Day series against New Zealand. Pollard is expected to fly out from New York to Auckland next week.. T&T captain Daren Ganga will again heads the list of trialists. T&T plays its opening match of the series against Barbados from January 9-12.
