| TTCB – News Khan in T&T 14
against Jamaica
January 15th 2009
The T&T cricket selectors have included the 2008
National Cricket League ‘Cricketer of the Year’, Imran Khan, in a
14-man-squad for the second round of the West Indies Cricket Board
Four-Day competition against Jamaica.
The match will start on Friday at the Queen’s Park
Oval.
Khan has been in good batting form during the last few
weeks scoring a match-saving 96 for South in the Pizza Hut/QPCC Gerry
Gomez Memorial Cricket Classic against North at the Queen’s Park Oval in
December. T&T cricketers under the astute captaincy of Daren Ganga took
first innings points in their away game to Barbados, in the opening
round of the series, while Jamaica secured full points against the
Leeward Islands.
Jamaica will round-off preparations with a net and
physical session at the playing venue Thursday.
The local team completed their training on Wednesday
at the In-Door facilities at the Oval.
