| TTCB – News Digicel Test Series
West Indies vs England Sunday’s Twenty20 tickets sold out The Fire Services Department and City Engineers have given the green light for patrons attending Sunday’s Twenty20 match between West Indies and England at the Queen’s Park Oval to occupy the RBTT, Carib Beer and KFC Stands. Thousands of spectators attending the fifth and final Digicel Test between the West Indies and England at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port-of-Spain were put at risk, because of a faulty staircase leading up to the RBTT, Carib Beer and KFC Stands. According to the CEO of QPCC, Lisa Abraham, repairs to the staircase have been completed and ready for use in Sunday’s sell out game. “ Remedial work has been completed and it is ready for Sunday. It was inspected by officials of the Fire Services Department, along with City Engineers, who have certified that it is safe to use,” Abraham said. The problems started last Saturday, when the elevator malfunctioned, which forced patrons to use the staircase, but many of them found that the stairs were shaking. Meanwhile, 19,000 tickets for the much anticipated Twenty20 match have been sold out. This was revealed by CEO of the T&T Cricket Board, Forbes Persaud, who said that every single ticket has been lapped up by the cricket loving public. “There were a limited number of tickets for grounds, which went on sale on Wednesday and that too have been sold out,”Persaud said. The match will start 2 pm. |
