January 17, 2010
THE West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) yesterday expressed
satisfaction with the response by public and corporate Trinidad and
Tobago concerning the “Aid relief for Haiti” Twenty20 benefit match
between Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana at the Queen’s Park Oval in St
Clair on January 20.
The match was organised by WIPA, Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB)
and Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) to provided much needed aid to Haiti
after Tuesday’s devastating earthquake. All proceeds from the match will
be given to an establish agency to assist the people of Haiti in their
time of need.
President and Chief Executive Officer of WIPA, Dinanath Ramnarine is
confident that the match will be sold out and people would support the
worthy cause by purchasing the $60 tickets.
“The response has been overwhelming from everyone thus far, it just
goes to show how much we as a people care and are affected by this
catastrophe in Haiti” said Ramnarine in a press release yesterday.
Limited tickets go on sale today at The Oval from 9 am to noon and on
Monday and Tuesday from 8 am to 6 pm.
Tickets will also be sold at three KFC Outlets on Monday and Tuesday;
