El Dorado East, Pres clash today

THE PowerGen Secondary School Cricket League (SSCL) will bowl off today with matches being contested in the Championship Division One and Division Two leagues.

This year the new format implemented by the SSCL will have top eight school team competing in Division One with the other teams in Division Two.

Defending champions El Dorado East Secondary will start its title defence against Intercol champions Presentation College, Chaguanas at El Dorado.

Runners-up Hillview College lead by Marc Panchu will host Naparima College at Honeymoon Park in Tunapuna. Iere High School will have to journey to Balandra to take on Toco Composite while Barrackpore West Secondary will be at home to Fatima College.

In Division Two, St Mary’s College will take on St Augustine Secondary at Serpentine Road, St Claire while newcomers Swaha Hindu College will play Princes Town West Secondary in Princes Town. Manzanilla High School will host San Fernando Central Secondary at Manzanilla and Shival Boys Hindu College will host Union Claxton Bay in Penal.
