$7,000 at stake in Tyro Over-45 night cricket League

OVER $7,000 will be at stake in the inaugural Tyro Sports Club 45 and Over Night Windball Cricket League.

And another $12,000-plus can be won in the bgTT/MP Anthony Roberts-sponsored Tyro Sports Club Men and Women Night Windball Cricket League.

According to organiser Zoff, winners of the 45 and Over competition will receive $4,000 with the runners-up getting $2,000.

There will be a knockout series which will see the winners getting $1,500 with the most disciplined player receiving $300.

But there is a registration fee of $400 for 20 players and $40 for each additional player.

Zoff said on each team three players 40-44 years will be allowed in each game.

Registration closes on April 8 by calling Brent Durity 681-5351 and the action begins at the Bourg Mulatresse “Gabba” Recreation Ground, adjacent to the Bourg RC school, on April 10.

Group winners in the men and women bgTT/MP Anthony Roberts tournament will each receive $1,000, but the winners of the Big 8 in each category will get $6,000 with the runners-up getting $2,000 each.

There is a knockout competition worth $2,000 to the winners and there are prizes of $100 each for most runs, most wickets, the first 50 and most runs in a game.

Bowler with the first hat-trick and first Beaver trick get $150 each with the bowler taking five wickets receiving $150.

A prize of $300 will be given to the most disciplined team in each category with player of the final getting $200.

Registration fee for these competitions is $550 for 20 players each and $40 for each additional player.

Deadline for registration is April 7 and action bowls off on April 11.
