Lingo heads blind cricket association

FORMER extempore champion Joseph Vautor-Laplaceliere, also known as “Mighty Lingo” has replaced Bhawani Persad as the president of the Trinidad and Tobago Blind Cricket Association.

The post which was left vacant by Persad after his resignation was filled at the last quarterly meeting of the organisation on April 3 at Rienzi Complex, Couva.

Joseph, who had overwhelming support, was elected unopposed to serve for the remainder of the term which expires at the end of September 2010.

Joseph pledged to do his best and noted that the main agenda for his organisation is the 2010 Blind Regional Tournament scheduled to bowl off in June in Barbados.
