Who’s Who at local cricket function
January 11, 2011
A VERITABLE Who’s Who of local cricket turned up for the Trinidad and
Tobago Cricket Board’s annual get-together to usher in the new year
which was staged last Friday (January 7) at the National Cricket Centre
at Balmain, Couva.
The T&TCB also used the opportunity to hold an impressive graduation
ceremony for participants in its Under-23 Academy which was topped by
talented batsman Stephen Katwaroo of Princes Town.
Also rewarded at the function last Friday night were Emile Rajah
(Most Improved Inductee), the son of a former national player and Kervon
Christmas (Inductee who best embodies the spirit of the Academy).
Giving the feature address was Azim Bassarath, president of the T&T
Cricket Board who also used the opportunity to bid farewell to the
national senior cricketers who left on Sunday for the Caribbean T20
Championships currently underway in Antigua.
Among those who accepted the T&TCB invitation to participate in the
historic occasion were Justice Anthony Lucky and his wife; Mayor of
Chaguanas Orlando Nagessar; Ann Brown-John, former outstanding national
cricketer and regional cricketer; popular entertainer Adesh Samaroo and
First Citizen’s Investment Manager Jason Julien and Community Relations
Officer Dale Mohammed.
