CARIB SUNDAY LEAGUE LIMITED OVERS COMPETITION

Cameron, Paty star with the ball

FORMER T&T youth fast bowler Brent Cameron emerged as the star performer, when Round Five action in the Carib Sunday League Limited Overs competition continued yesterday.

Cameron who participated with the T&T Under-19 team in last year’s TCL West Indies Youth Challenge in St Kitts and Nevis, bagged eight wickets for 25 runs for Queen’s Park (2) against Ihsan Milton Valley Boys Sports who were dismissed for a paltry 61 in 22 overs. In reply, the “Parkites’ reached their target in 20 overs despite losing seven wickets in the process. Also enjoying himself with the ball was Ricardo Paty who grabbed seven for 13 for Queen’s Park (1) who registered a massive 202-run-win against Brand Source Spoilers Sports Club at the Oval.

At Serpentine Road, former champions Ceramic Merry Boys Sports led by four-wicket-hauls from former Guyanese and West Indies left-arm spinner Neil McGarrell (4-13) and former West Indies ‘A’ team player Richard Kelly (4-30) scored a four-wicket -win against Alescon Comets.

At Williamsville, former Barbados and West Indies allrounder Ryan Hurley turned in a fine allround performance for Clico Preysal Sports who defeated Cosmos Sports by four wickets.

Hurley picked up three wickets for 22 runs as Cosmos were prized out for 127 and then scored a quickfire 29 as Preysal romped home to victory in 25.2 overs. At Boundary Road, Keon Isaac struck 117 for EYM who defeated Agents by 157 runs. Round six matches will start today at 10 am.

AT ENDEAVOUR: Ihsan Endeavour Sports 151 all out (46) (Ishwar Maraj 56, Narine Roopnarine 27, Stephen Shaddick 21 not out, Joel Graham 3-20, Steven Wharwood 3-29) v Squadron Sports 144 all out (Anderson Nesbit 141, Kumar Kanhai 4-41, Narine Roopnarine 3-25). Endeavour won by 7 runs.
