T&T U-23 wins limited overs series against S/Africans

T&T Under-23 team took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match limited overs series, against the touring East Rand Academy of South Africa, when they won the second game by 130 runs here on Thursday at Syne Village in Penal.

In the contest which was reduced to 20 overs per-side because of rain, T&T batted first and chalked up a competitive 175 for four.

Skipper Jason Mohammed led the way with a robust 52 off 30 balls with two fours and four sixes.

He received good support from Darron Cruikshank (43), Mario Belcon (40) and Kervon Cooper (20 not out.

In reply, East Rand were restricted to 45 for six in their allottment of 20 overs.

East Rand will leave on Friday for a two-day match against a Tobago X1 at Shaw Park,starting on Saturday.
