BG TT UNDER-15 TOURNAMENT
February 26th, 2009

Charles mesmerizes South-West

Bryan Charles, 13-year-old Presentation College, Chaguanas, student, produced a magical spell of spin bowling, to power Central to an impressive 10-wicket win against South-West in Round Two action of the BG TT U-15 Series, yesterday, at the Caroni Savannah Road Recreation ground. A right-arm off-spinner, Charles who also plays for Clico Preysal Sports, bagged six wickets for 10 runs from 10 overs, to help dismiss South-West for a paltry 84 in 41.3 overs. Charles was well supported by right-arm off-spinner Keron Manohar who picked up two wickets for one run from six overs.

In response, Central with a polished unbeaten 42 from Nicholas Poorai and a solid 24 not out by Aleem Khan, brisk-cantered to victory in 20.1 overs.

It was Central’s second victory on the trot, having beaten South-East in the opening round last week at Invaders ground in Felicity.

Elsewhere, there were wins for North and South-East.

The competition continues today with defending champions East taking on Tobago at Shaw Park in Scarborough.
