Southern Sports batsmen hit 100s

GANDHI Rebels, winners of the Southern Sports Division One competitions last year which was played under lights at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre. They won $10,000, a trophy and 15 gold medals

BATSMEN Nicholas Buchoon and Krishna Jaglal struck centuries as matches in the General Earth Movers-sponsored Southern Sports Sunday Cricket League continued.

Buchoon of Wilson Road Sports hit 10 fours and seven sixes in his 115 off La Romain Avengers at the Happy Hits ground, Palmyra, despite Preston Seenath taking five wickets for 43 runs in the 30-over series.

Jaglal scored 105 for Mohess Road Sports including eight fours and seven sixes off Survivors bowlers.

Aided by Jaglal’s century, Mohess Road posted the highest total of the season— 326 for six wickets.

Both century makers are playing in the Division One series.

In Champions Division action, allrounder Ricky Deolal of Hard Target missed his century in the Champions Division when he was out on 95 against All Apaches who won a thriller by just seven runs.

And Gandhi Rebels scored a close five-run victory over Karan Sports in another match.
