TTCB – Results Dwayne Bravo (155) plunders Comets By JOEL BAILEY WEST INDIES and Trinidad and Tobago all-rounder Dwayne Bravo made a stroke-filled 155 as Queen’s Park held the upper hand against Alescon Comets yesterday at Pierre Road, Charlieville. The match was one of five Round Four encounters in the Eastern Credit Union-sponsored National Cricket League Premier Division. Bravo’s knock, in 223 minutes, featured eight fours and 13 sixes off 140 deliveries, as the Parkites were bowled out for 307 in 70.4 overs. He received support from his brother Darren (34), Leeward Islands and WI batsman Runako Morton (28) and national batsman Daron Cruickshank (24). Darry Balgobin collected 5/16 while past and present national all-rounders Rayad Emrit and Imran Khan took 2/47 and 2/87 respectively. Comets, in response, will resume this morning on 95/3, with Barbadian Jevon Searles 59 not out, while Adrian Ali chipped in with 20. The most outstanding team performance of the day occurred at Wilson Road, Penal, as First Citizens Clarke Road seems set for an innings victory over the struggling Rahamut’s Evergreen. Evergreen, despite 26 from Mitra Ramiser, crashed to 73 with Windward Islands and St Vincent left-arm pacer Deighton Butler taking 4/30, leg-spinner Sanjiv Gooljar 3/11 and Dane Teelucksingh 2/7. After Mahadeo Moonesar fell for 42, Sean Siloch and Gregory Mahabir made 291 for the second wicket as Clarke Road declared their first innings on 363/2. Siloch made 190 with 25 fours and four sixes while Mahabir had an unbeaten 126 with 13 fours and a six. Guyanese Steven Jacobs was 34 not out as Evergreen closed play on 55/2, 235 runs in arrears. Runaway league leaders Ceramic Merry Boys claimed first innings points against the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) at O’Meara, Arima. UTT were bowled out for 170 with Jahron Alfred (43), Keon Isaac (35) and Emile Rajah (27 not out) the leading scorers, while Merry Boys captain Aneil Kanhai took 4/51 and Jamaican leg-spinner Alton Beckford 3/65. Ex-Windies and current TT batsman Lendl Simmons struck 61 while Clifton Halls had 25 as Merry Boys responded with 215/7. Rajah (3/34) and veteran fast bowler Mervyn Dillon (3/40) were the major destroyers with the ball for UTT. W Connection Wanderers, rooted at the bottom of the standings, is facing another defeat in their clash against Super Industrial Services Central Sports Invaders at Gilbert Park, California.. Wanderers were restricted to 146 with Windward Islands and St Lucian left-arm spinner Gary Mathurin claiming 6/31 and Andre Brown 2/19. Another Windward Islands and St Lucian player, Keddy Lesporis, smashed an undefeated 148 as Central ended the day with 278/3. Guyanese Troy Cornelius added 65 and Akeem Mohammed 39 for Central. Second-placed PowerGen took first innings points in their meeting against CLICO Preysal at Syne Village, Penal. National limited-overs team leg-spinner Samuel Badree took 6/45 as Preysal were dismissed for 143, despite 38 from Videsh Sookhai, 28 from Yannic Ottley and 27 apiece from Ottley’s brother Kjorn and Stephen Katwaroo. Yannic Ottley took two wickets as PowerGen, the 2009 champs, reached 174/5, with Nicholas Sookdeosingh hitting 49, Rondell Ramlochan 38 and TT all-rounder Sherwin Ganga an unbeaten 37.
