El Dorado eye PowerGen title
March 8, 2010

EL DORADO East Secondary can clinch their second consecutive PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket League title today when they play Fatima College.

The defending champions will be hosted by Fatima College at their ground in Port-of-Spain in the final round of matches. Allrounder Yannic Cariah is expected to shoulder El Dorado’s batting and bowling attack against an inconsistent Fatima College lineup.

El Dorado will also be depending on aggressive wicketkeeper/batsman Aaron Alfred to give them the upper hand. The defending champions has lead the standings since the first match of the season and currently have 73 points.

However, if El Dorado loses they can be pipped for the title by second placed Presentation College, Chaguanas or third place Hillview College. Presentation College is on 63 points and Hillview College are on 62 points with batting and bowling points expected to play an integral role in deciding the title.

The Intercol champions will have a tough match away to steadily improving Naparima College in San Fernando and will need to have a flawless match.

Hillview College will have an easier match against Toco Secondary in Toco. The other match being played is Iere High School taking Barrackpore West Secondary at Iere.
