March 16, 2010

IERE High School yesterday knocked out defending champions Presentation College, Chaguanas from the PowerGen Secondary School Cricket League (SSCL) Intercol tournament at PowerGen Ground in Syne Village, Penal.

West Indies Under-15 captain, Stephen Katwaroo and Zachery Ragoonath ensured Iere completed a crushing 10-wicket win with another century opening partnership.

Dennis Nandlal was bowling with variation and changed of pace which resulted in him picking up four for 16 to restrict Presentation College to 140 for nine in 30 overs.

Kieron Joseph top scored for 41 while Yannick Ottley looked threatening in his knock of 25 until he was dismissed.

Iere were then guide to victory by Katwaroo and Ragoonath who batted with ease at the crease. Katwaroo finished on 70 not out and Ragoonath 63 not out on a commanding batting display as Iere finished on 142 without loss after 26 overs to clinch victory.
